This page is for tribal members who are interested in participating in current projects with Trees, Water & People. Be sure to check back frequently, as they vary throughout the year. Opportunities include registration for renewable energy trainings at the Red Cloud Renewable Energy Center, as well as scholarship and solar heater applications.

Sustainable Ag and Solar Water Pump Training
Application Due June 3, 2013
Trees, Water & People, Lakota Solar Enterprises, and Solar Energy International are working together to bring you a training on sustainable agriculture. Key components of the training will be instruction in installing a solar powered water pump and drip irrigation system to water your garden. Hands-on instruction takes place at the Solar Warrior Farm on the Red Cloud Renewable Energy Center in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. The training costs $850 per student, which includes instruction, food, and lodging for the duration of the course. For more information, download our registration form.

Solar Air Heater Training

Join us for a 7-day Solar Air Heater Training and learn how to install solar air heaters! Classroom instruction takes place at the Red Cloud Renewable Energy Center in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and students will have the opportunity to conduct a hands-on installation on the Pine Ridge Reservation. At this time, only residents of communities near the following reservations in South Dakota, Montana, and New Mexico are eligible to apply: Pine Ridge, Rosebud, Cheyenne River, Yankton, Fort Belknap, Northern Cheyenne, and Gallup.
