Other ways to reduce your CO2 production
  • Recycle.

  • When buying wood products, choose salvaged or certified wood.

  • When buying paper, choose recycled paper with post-consumer waste content.

  • Use passive or active solar designs to heat your house and water.

  • Contact your electric utility to switch your electricity source to a renewable one like wind energy.

  • Insulate the cracks in your home, doors, windows, and your hot water heater.

  • Set your thermostat warmer in summer and cooler in winter and use fans to circulate air.

  • Turn off incandescent lights, computers, and TVs when you aren’t using them.

  • Switch to compact fluorescent lightbulbs.

  • Travel via bike, mass transit, or carpooling.

  • Trade your car in for one with higher mpg, such as a hybrid vehicle, or a diesel vehicle modified to use biodiesel.

  • Buy local and/or organic food.

  • Reuse containers to buy food in bulk.
