Flame of Empowerment

Gloribel’s Advocacy with Justa Stoves

Gloribel Bautista

Gloribel Bautista is an Indigenous Lenca woman and Justa clean cookstove builder, who exemplifies the transformative impact of community engagement and education. Actively participating in community groups, she focuses on learning, sharing knowledge and training other women to challenge stereotypes in a society with scarce opportunities for them.

The Justa improved cookstove program by AHDESA and TWP has been a crucial part of her journey, providing her with dignified work and income. She is a big advocate of the program, encouraging other women to take this opportunity to provide for themselves and their families.

The stoves she expertly installs represent an improvement in the communities health and environmental benefits, but also symbolize the flame of empowerment she brings to her community.
